so what did i get for my birthday?

thanks mum :D

when i went to get the ipod, it was a slightly drizzling morning at regent street. Being bored since no one was awake at B-hall when i came there, i went to the apple store, with no idea what time it was open.

*dang-it*

it was closed when i got there, so i waited a bit. Then, i realised that i was potentitally the irst person to come in. I was literally standing in front o fthe door among the throngs of other customers who wants to go in, in about 5 minutes time. So when they did eventually opened the door, i felt a gust of wind like scene from confessions of a shophaholic sa sale, and apa lagi, zoom mencari ipod touch~

So after that, went back to B-hall, sat around the dining hall for *quite* a while, and almost ended up sleeping on the couch at the dining hall.

Even though i'm now the big *sadang2* 1-8, i still come back to my childhood addictions. What are they, you may ask? well i lived and cherish in the 'race-tin' age, and so i've come back and resurrected that passion for adrenaline *philosophical much?* and bought myself R/C cars!!

oh ebay, the spelndour of online shopping that you have showed me enlightens my heart and debit card balance.

oh before i forget, did i tell you i went back to brunei or easter ? *crickets chirping*

*long awkward silence*

I didn't tell a lot of people i'm going back for easter, was supposed to be a suprise but some got hold of the news, so it wasn't that much of a suprise to some but it was still great fun getting people off guard ahah

Went here and there while in Brunei, *tried* playing some form of tennis other than Wii Tennis, and such and such. Shopping? it's all online baby hahahaha

Now, so far it's been like a summary, little words, big pictures. why? because there's a lot going into the post, i'm 'dividing' the content up. smart eh? *notttttt*

Now, it's walking time. More like the Duke Of Edinburgh practise hiking trip. It was basically a trip along with the Bronze students, to the Malvern Hill'S' for an overnight camp. I do have to press on that point that they were hills, a number of them. We were like going over a number o speed hump at some point, only they're almost 80m different in altitude. i'l come back to that soon.
Day 1 : set off school in the 'Safety Car' with Mr. Ellesmere to Malvern. Being the only Sixth Form group in the trip, we get some special priviliges, i would say. For example, we have priorities to equipment, we don't have to get on the bus with the other juniors *although i would have loved to when i found out the condition in which i was when we were OTW there. All i can say is that i only had one hand mobile to eat my burger in the car*
It was a relatively easy walk, pretty much flatland throughout the day. We had to do 30km in total over 1.5 days, so the first day was around 11km or so. We were laughing or numerous reasons, some were because of the songs we were singing out loud like :

"6,000,000 bottles of beer on the wall, 6,000,000 bottles of beer. Take one down, turn it around, 5,999,999 bottles of beer on the wall. 5,999,999 bottles of beer on the wall, 5,999,999 ~ " " ai-yai-yai, you're my little butterfly~"
"CAR!!" - this was whenever we would see an oncoming car or a car coming rom behind us. When it was the oncoming ones, we were usually louder, especially on the hills ahah

We went through some forest footpaths, farms, roads, slightly swampy area and residential areas as we went on.

As we reach camp site 1, we found ourselves being the second team to arrive there, on schedule around 6 o'clock. Note that sundown at that time was around 9+, so plently of sun-time left.

Set-up camp and got instructions and guidance as to how to proceed with the next day. The night was cold, good thing we were supplied with thick sleeping bags, although they're quite hefty to lug around.

Day 2 : Way tougher than day one. More elevation changes, rougher terrain, and i apparently had contracted a virus. No, it's not stomach flu or swine flu. The nurse didn't tell me the name but she said it will get better over time, and that i probably got it from the utensils i was using. Note that i only went to the nurse after the hike, after 20km with occasional stomach 'discomfort'.

We went up, down, up, down, up, down the hills when we were at malvern hills, the south bit. BAsically, imagine a straight path up a hill, with no trees next to it, just a slightly rocky road, and then a pretty much straight road down the other side. There is literally no trees, bukan mcm bukit brunei nya org.

We got *slightly* lost on some parts, but for most of time, we were pretty much on track.

I had a day-off from school the next day due to the stomach and hence the fatigue thing. Was feeling a bit better the next day, fit enough for school.

Then came Monday. The Interhouse Tug-Of-War Competition. This is an inangural interhouse competition in DCS, with the idea put forward by the 3 of us bruneian boys, namely sul, me and khai as an idea for an event that the school could host, and with mr.garner, we hosted what was descreibed by mr.garner as *and i quote*:

"Possibly the largest ever voluntary physical sporting event in the history of the school"

:D

So out of the 400+ students in the schools, we had 220 people signed up. That's basically 22 teams of tuggers, boys and girls from different houses. 220 is in fact the maximum number possible because anymore teams and it may not have had enough time to do all the matches.

so 3.50 on monday afternoon, master of MAA, mr.garner cancelled most of the MAA, had people coming to Humpty Dumpty *the field we were using* and then it drizzled, which made it a whole lot more awesome.

by tug's law,
General entertainment value of tugging is proportional to (Strength x body mass x cherring) / grip level

rain = low grip level
entertainment = very good

i was the captain for the Gate House Tug of war team, and we came in third place. It wasn't bad considering we only had half a practise session weeks before. Next year, it'll be way more intense or Gate *i hope*

Now, that's that. It's time for the School Sports Day.

For this one, we were only supporting our houses, but it was a good break from school. We went to the stadium around 2 in a very cramped bus. * by cramped, i mean very small seats*

Gate house won this one, mainly because we have very fast runners. Tom from Gate set a new 100m school record with 10.70 seconds ( rounded off).

i post pictures up when i get them :D

ebay.

oh i love ebay! the bargains, the brands, the ease of shopping at ebay! :D
