an e-mail forwarded from Liyana Latif, Brunei Darussalam Aids Council and also from the BFF forum
Dear bloggers,
It would be great if you guys could post this advertisement on your website and encourage your readers to attend this charity walkathon. This is more than just a walkathon, our council including myself have been working very hard in raising awareness. We have conducted roadshows and orientation programs throughout the whole year where we visit schools and give awareness talks on HIV/AIDS.
We do not work for money- we chase the satisfaction knowing that when we educate one person about hiv/aids and sexual education, that is one life we touch. Our volunteers and members including myself have gone through trainings and visits to countries with bad cases of hiv/aids; if only you could see through my eyes and understand that the impact of hiv/aids is devastating and heartbreaking- you will do all you can to make sure that your friends and loved ones are safe from harms way.
There are 8 new hiv/aids cases this year, which is a big jump from slower growths in previous years.
This walkathon will help us raise funds for future projects in educating the population bit by bit. Even though there are so little of us, we are one of the most active councils in the county led by and run by youths.
We have done our part and we will continue doing the best we can in encouraging our youths to be more responsible, respectful and most importantly to teach them the difference between being exploited and exploitation. It is time you did your part, all you have to do is encourage your readers, your friends and loved ones to walk this walk, wake up extra early this sunday, put on something red and show that you care.
Do forward this email to other bloggers. Contact me if there is anything at all- 8920009.
Many thanks and I hope to see you on sunday!
